Art Therapy

World Mental Health day 10th of October.

Art is a powerful medium for self-expression, allowing us to communicate emotions, ideas, and experiences in unique and meaningful ways. Engaging in art invites mindfulness and full focus on the present moment, offering a short escape from the outside world. It’s a chance to have fun, connect with others, or simply enjoy the process.

Beyond being enjoyable, art is also highly therapeutic. It provides a safe space to express emotions, which can help improve mental, physical, and emotional well-being. Research shows that when people explore and express who they are through art, they gain confidence—a boost that can positively impact success in adolescence and throughout adulthood.

Art can be a calming and peaceful tool to help us stay present. I personally use drawing to stay grounded, and I encourage you to try it too—see how it might bring a moment of peace into your day.

Here’s a link to some mindful colouring illustrations I created. Once you’ve coloured it, please tag your work to my Instagram account: @itai.art—I’d love to see what you create!

Take care and be kind to your mind!
